7 April 2012

Solo ride

It was sunny and nice. Due to rain, I hadn't ridden the last 3 weekends. The path from High St to Coral St was still closed, so I headed through downtown, waiting through a cycle and a half at a red light at River and Water before running it, and waiting through another long red light at River and Hwy 1. Then, it was up Hwy 9 with the Glen Arbor detour. On Hwy 9, a little before Boulder Creek, one lane was closed for something. From Boulder Creek, I turn left at Hwy 236, and started up Jamison at 12:33. A couple of trucks filled the air with horrible fumes at one point. I got to the top at 12:58, for an estimated time of 25:53, then headed back on Empire Grade.

10 March 2012

Solo ride

It was sunny and cool, especially in the shade. I started off north on Hwy 1 into a headwind. At Bonny Doon, I turned right, and had a tailwind at first and was then shielded from the wind by the hills. I continued up Pine Flat, then turned right and headed back down Empire Grade.

3 March 2012

Solo ride

It clear and warm in the sun but cool in the shade. The path from High St to Coral St was still closed, despite the sign that said the path was closed from 1-10-12 to 2-25-12, so I headed through downtown and up River St before heading up Hwy 9, with the Glen Arbor detour, to Boulder Creek. From there, I took Hwy 236 and started up Jamison Creek at 12:19. Some of the road had damp patches. At the first steep part, where a 1.8 marker would be, mud was tracked from the turnoff onto the road, which I had to avoid to keep my rear wheel from slipping. There was more mud tracked onto the road between the 1.66 marker the 1.60 marker. I got to the top at 12:44 for an estimated time of 25:12 for the climb. I headed home down Empire Grade.
