I had never climbed Old La Honda before, I figured I'd give it a try. I headed up Hwy 9, north on Skyline, then down Page Mill, Arastradero, Alpine, and Portola to the bottom of Old La Honda. It was about 50 miles to that point. I climbed Old La Honda to Skyline in about 27 minutes. I probably could do it in under 25 minutes, knowing what to expect. I then had about 50 miles more to go. I continued down Old La Honda and Hwy 84, then took Hwy 1 back to Santa Cruz.
